Hygienist
Duties
and Responsibilities: Performs industrial hygiene filed measurements and safety
evaluations.
Assesses work place for occupational health
hazards by observing work conditions, assessing records, conducting interviews,
sampling, and monitoring chemical or physical agents.
Determines appropriate monitoring and sampling
strategies, if indicated, and conducts these activities.
Maintains, operates, and calibrates a variety
of sampling and monitoring equipment.
Salary:
$40,000 - $60,000
Education: Students should take challenging college
preparatory courses, especially in mathematics and science, during high
school.
A
career in industrial hygiene requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in
occupational health and safety, environmental health engineering, or the
physical sciences. Many jobs require certification and/or a Master's
Degree in these, or related, fields. Certification requires successful
completion of the American Board of Industrial Hygiene examination.
Reflection:
No I would like not to become a Industrial Hygienist because I like the
technical field.
