Sonographer (Ultrasound Technician)

Duties and Responsibilities:  diagnostic medical professionals who operate ultrasonic imaging devices to produce diagnostic images, scans, videos, or 3D volumes of anatomy and diagnostic data. Sonography requires specialized education and skills to view, analyze and modify the scan to optimize the information in the image.

Salary: $83,000-90,000

Education: A medical sonographer may enter the field through on-the-job training in a sonography practice that has been accredited by AIUM (American Institution of Ultrasound in Medicine, www.aium.org). They may also train through a formal education program or a mixture of both formal and on-the-job training. Increasingly, employers are looking to hire registered sonographers who have trained through a formal education program, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Programs are available at community colleges and vocational schools, as well as through the military. High school preparation for this profession should include coursework in science, math and health
Formal education programs award either an associate's or bachelor's degree. The most common are the 2-year programs. Coursework for sonographers includes human anatomy, medical terminology, patient care, physics and instrumentation. 
Reflection: I think i would like to become a Sonographer because the pay is very high and the field is very open easy to get a job.
