Duties and Responsibilities:  Medical illustrators are highly skilled artists.  They work strictly in the medical field and create graphics for textbooks, journals, magazines, and educational films.  Their drawings span a wide range from microorganisms to body parts. Some medical illustrators prepare illustrations that aid in research about or creation of artificial body parts.  At times, they are called upon to use modeling skills to create artificial body parts, such as ears, and noses, for patients that are deformed or have undergone some surgeries.
Salary:  $35,000 - $50,000
Education: Students interested in becoming medical illustrators should take a college preparatory program in high school that emphasizes art and science. In college they should either major in art and minor in science or major in science and minor in art.  Undergraduate science courses should be the same as those required for medical school. The majority of medical illustrators have master's degrees in the field from a program that is accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Educational Programs. Certification as a medical illustrator requires a graduate degree in medical illustration, a portfolio review, and successful completion of a national examination.

Reflection: I think I would like to become a Medical Illustrator  because it involves making or drawing illustrations and I like to draw.

Education: Students should complete high school with courses in biology, physical science, office management, communications, and human relations, although medical assistant training programs may accept GED certificates.  Medical assistant training programs are provided by community colleges and for-profit technical training schools.  They may take between six months and two years to complete.


Reflection: I don’t think I would like to become a Medical Assistant because I like more the technology field.

Licensed practical nurses (LPNs) work with and under the direction of registered nurses and physicians.  They care for injured, handicapped, and sick patients.  Their duties include taking temperatures, blood pressures, and pulses.  They also give injections, change dressings, and help give patients baths.  In general, they care for patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and extended care facilities.  Some practical nurses work in private homes.
Salary: $16,000 - $23,000
Education: Although a high school diploma or GED certificate is not always required, it is encouraged.  LPNs do not have the extensive professional education that is required for a registered nurse.  State approved training programs are offered by the hospitals, vocational schools, junior colleges and private schools.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to become a licensed practical nurse because I don’t like the medical field.

                My Experience So Far At HPIAM

My Experience At HPIAM has been wonderful al the teacher are pretty chill this is my last year at HPIAM am proud that I haven’t got into trouble I hope I gradate this year all my classes are cool I learned a lot stuff what I don’t like about this school is that we are on a block schedule I prefer having periods like last semester but the classes go by fast I love that I have 2 free periods I go home early and I have some cool classes. I wish that there would bring back nutrition because we would have more time to kick it with your friends, or to come to school late like around 9:00 am and leaver at 2:00 pm I have some nice memories in high school I hope so see my teachers in the future see my friends in the future as well. It feel goods that am part of the first seniors to graduate in HPIAM. What I don’t like the mo0st in HPIAM Is that we have to wear uniforms it was great last semester but we already knew that we would get uniforms because non of us liked the id hanging around your neck we wouldn’t wear it at all but there is their ups and downs about it but overall the school is pretty nice its very clean but it’s very small and the teachers are great. I will never forget my experience at HPIAM and I hope to continue my education and be someone in life. HPIAM has been a great school and I hope to see it that way on the future my parents have been very proud of me they want me to continue my education and work somewhere good.
